Our hand therapy team Sydney provides hand, wrist and upper limb therapy for injuries, conditions and post-operative rehabilitation. We work collaboratively with referring doctors, surgeons and other health professionals to support coordinated care.

Ray Jongs

Ray Jongs is a physiotherapist with a dedicated focus on hand therapy. He graduated from the University of Sydney in 1998 and has more than 20 years of experience as Clinical Lead Hand Physiotherapist with the Hand and Peripheral Nerve Unit at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney.

Ray has completed a Master of Philosophy in Hand Therapy and has an ongoing interest in research, teaching and clinical education. He is involved in the development and mentoring of hand therapists, including through fellowship and training programs.

Ray regularly presents at professional meetings and conferences and remains actively engaged in evidence-informed hand therapy practice.

Michele Chim

Michele is a physiotherapist with extensive experience in hand therapy. She has worked in a range of hand therapy settings in Sydney, including North Shore, Macquarie Hand Unit and St George Hospital, as well as internationally at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and King’s College Hospital in London.

Michele has been involved in education and professional development within the Australian Hand Therapy Association, including roles as Deputy Education Officer. Through this role, she has contributed to hand therapy education and assessment within the profession.

Michele has a strong interest in clinical education and supporting patients with hand, wrist and upper limb injuries and conditions.

Christina Mills

Hand Physiotherapist

Christina is a physiotherapist with more than 17 years of clinical experience. She has worked in two of the largest hand units in New South Wales, Sydney Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital, where she continues to work as a senior clinician.

Christina has experience in the management of musculoskeletal conditions, complex trauma and injuries affecting the hand, wrist and upper limb.

She is committed to ongoing professional development and clinical education, both personally and within the hand therapy profession. Christina also holds an assessment role with the Australian Hand Therapy Association Education Committee.

Outside of her hand therapy work, Christina is a violinist and regularly performs in orchestral settings. This gives her a personal appreciation of the importance of hand function and the role it plays in work, recreation and daily life..

At Hand Therapy Associates, our clinicians provide hand, wrist and upper limb therapy for injuries, conditions and post-operative rehabilitation. Our hand therapy team Sydney works with referring doctors, surgeons and other health professionals where appropriate to support coordinated care.

This may include fractures, tendon injuries, nerve-related conditions, arthritis, sporting injuries, trauma, post-operative rehabilitation and persistent hand or wrist symptoms.

Treatment may include assessment, tailored exercise programs, splinting, casts, education, activity modification and communication with referring doctors, surgeons and other health professionals where appropriate.

Our team is committed to evidence-informed practice, ongoing clinical education and professional development within the hand therapy profession.
